Oblique Strategies

"Work at a different speed"

I usually write pretty slowly, take my time with things, and try and find the "perfect words", I found myself stuck staring at a blank page for long enough to use the oblique strategies, and found this one. I decided to work a little faster, and not be such a perfectionist.

"A very small object at its center"

My game of the School Year was very complicated and fantastical, so I was struggling to find something to write about since I don't usually write fantasy, so I interpreted this as taking something small and seemingly insignificant to make the center of my story, in this case, an "evil scary tower" that had been built towards the beginning of the game, and mostly forgotten about by the end.

Oblique Strategies and N+2

"What are the securities sections of? Imagine a cathedral moving"

I put the oblique strategy "What are the sections sections of? Imagine a caterpillar moving" into N+7, and and the second one ended up very loosely inspiring what I wanted to write about. The 'cathedral' made me think of the tower specifically, which I had considered early among other things for the "very small object" strategy.
